Had a lovely dinner with the clique at Tonkatsu Bistro by Ma Maison, located at Westgate.
Ma Maison is a Japanese-French fusion restaurant that specializes in Tonkatsu.

Decided to try the Mameton Set[S$23.80++]:
A combination of deep-fried prawn, pork fillet and tender pork loin.

Interestingly, we were given grated radish(to be self-seasoned with shoyu sauce) as a starter. The meal is completed with rice, nyumen(sōmen served in hot soup), sides of tonjiru soup, fresh shredded cabbage and pickles – all free-flow! I chose mixed grain rice and iced tea, which strangely had a coffee-esque taste to it.

Kewpie's roasted sesame sauce was provided to go with the shredded cabbage, as well as tartar sauce  for savouring the golden brown deep-fried prawns with. That dollop of bright yellow mustard served along the meat was rather strong and definitely packs a spicy punch.

The deep-fried pork meats were so tender and delicious with each hearty bite! The deep-fried prawn was scrumptious as well. Everything was fried to perfection. We finished our meals with complimentary blueberry jelly, which tasted more like osmanthus to me. The components of the meal reminded me so much of my first adventure in Japan.

My 1-month stay in Japan grew my love for condiments, such as Kewpie's roasted sesame sauce and S&B's Nanami Togarashi (assorted chili pepper). I have developed a habit of having salads with my daily meals, probably from eating Matsuya almost every other day. Cutting down on the calorie-rich dressing is the hard part!

After dinner, we headed to Lady M Confections located in the same building. The queue was pretty long and we had to queue for almost 30 minutes before being seated. Ordered 5 different cakes[from S$7.50++ a slice] to share so that everyone could try each flavour~

Clockwise: Strawberry Shortcake, Lady M® Signature Mille Crêpes, Lady M® Green Tea Mille Crêpes, Lady M® Marron Mille Crêpes, Checkers

I can't decide on a favourite between the Green Tea Mille Crêpes and The Marron Mille Crêpes(exclusively available at Westgate). The green tea cream was flavourful and soothingly familiar, whereas the roasted chestnut pastry cream had a delightful balance of sweetness and reminded me of the autumn season. Despite the cream in each alternating layer, they were both amazingly light and delicious!

本当に美味しかった!是非食べてみてくださいね〜
